چکیده

Abstract The quantity and quality of food consumed by insects affect their growth, development; likewise, the diamondback moth Plutella xylostella (Lepidoptera: Yponomeutidae), one important pests Brassicaceae plants. study aimed to determine feed preferences effect four Brassicaceae, namely cabbage ( Brassica oleracea var. capitata) , caisin B. rapa ), broccoli italica Rorippa indica on nutritional indices P. larvae. research methods consisted insect rearing, nutrition test, preference proximate analysis. results showed that highest was found in R. (47.81%), while other three plant species were not significantly different. Cabbage treatment efficiency conversion ingested (ECI) (8.56%), followed caisin, broccoli. same thing, digested (ECD) (13.02%), Broccoli had approximate digestibility (AD) (89.38%), cabbage, caisin. In general, most suitable for larvae; addition, with a high feeding preference, could potentially be used as trap crop.

Insecticide Resistance in Plutella xylostella (L.) (Lepidoptera: Yponomeutidae) in the Federal District, Brazil

The levels of resistance to the insecticides cartap, deltamethrin and metamidophos were evaluated for three populations of the Diamondback Moth Plutella xylostella (L.) from the Federal District, Brazil in laboratory bioassays. The larvae of DBM showed levels of resistance to deltamethrin between 4 and 47 fold relative to a susceptible laboratory strain. The level of resistance to metamidophos ...

Photoperiodism and seasonality in neotropical population of Plutella xylostella L. (Lepidoptera: Yponomeutidae).

Neotropical populations of the diamondback moth Plutella xylostella L. have seasonal cycles of growth and decrease, and moth migration plays a fundamental role in generating such population dynamics. Since the oscillation of these populations is predictable, photoperiod might operate as a signal that triggers the migratory behaviour of the insect. Migration in insects is usually preceded by rep...

Studies on genetic variability of Diamondback moth, Plutella xylostella (Lepidoptera: Yponomeutidae) in Himachal Pradesh

Studies were carried out during 2015 and 2016 at Nauni, Solan, Himachal Pradesh to determine the genetic variability of Plutella xylostella (Lepidoptera: Yponomeutidae) in Cauliflower. The diamondback moth population collected from 4 locatitons viz. three from Himachal Pradesh and one from Punjab revealed significant variability existing among them. The life table analysis revealed that the fem...
